About The Hive

Hi, I’m Carrie Honey, the creative force behind The Hive! My journey began in 2016, inspired by my father’s beekeeping. I started by crafting beeswax candles using the wax from his hives, which allowed me to purchase my first kiln. From there, I discovered the vibrant world of glass fusing and haven’t looked back since.

What began as a heartfelt hobby—making gifts for friends and family—quickly blossomed into something bigger. By 2018, I was selling my glass creations, and in 2022, I took the exciting step of building a dedicated studio at home. This studio has become a space for creativity and joy, where I host fun and engaging workshops to share the art of glass fusing with others.

For many years, I balanced my passion for glasswork with my career as a primary school teacher. The skills I honed in the classroom—patience, creativity, and a knack for making learning fun—have seamlessly transferred to my workshops, creating an inviting and supportive environment for all skill levels.
